“It was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the gesture was entirely accidental, occurring amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the wrong digit,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently performed. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”

This incident isn’t the initial instance an league proprietor has been fined for misconduct. Previous cases involve:
- Panthers proprietor Tepper was penalized $300K for tossing a beverage at spectators in early 2024.
